Cystic fibrosis (CF) is one of the most common hereditary deceases. Patients diagnosed with cystic fibrosis can live long and function well, providing that they have access to necessary medication. We want you to join us in our work to help patients diagnosed with cystic fibrosis buy the medication which is vital for them. Only a few people know what cystic fibrosis is. However, it is one of the most common hereditary deceases. Cystic fibrosis affects all internal organs producing mucus, hence the other name of the condition, "mucoviscidosis". Some of the organs that are most affected by this decease are lungs and the digestive system. In this country, one of 20 people is the carrier of the cystic fibrosis gene. Recently it has become possible to provide successful treatment to patients with cystic fibrosis, so that patients with this diagnosis are able to have a high life quality, like diabetes patients, providing they get the necessary medication. In the rest of the world, government spending and special funds help to solve the issues related to treatment of patients with cystic fibrosis. In Russia, CF patients find themselves outside the legislative network. There are no federal programs dealing with cystic fibrosis. The patients are not getting vital medication. The parents of children diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, have difficulties paying for this medication on their own. The children are not getting the treatment they need, and as a result, they live only half as long as their peers abroad. "Can you imagine, what it is like, to live permanently in a gas mask? A gas mask which works less and less every day. This is how people with cystic fibrosis live. Their lungs function only at 25% capacity". Every day, we are losing lives. In the time of peace, we are losing our peoples lives. They die quietly, the pupils of their eyes widened by suffocation and fear. But we can save some of them. They need help
