In the spring of 2011 Dasha needs to have a rehabilitation course that costs 95,040 rubles. Neither Dasha nor her parents have that kind of money.

From Dasha’s letter:

It is very hard to write about my disease, but I can’t deny the reality. I have cerebral palsy. I can barely walk, I loose my balance and fall very often.

I was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when I was 12 months old. Since then my mom has done everything to improve my condition. I already had 4 surgeries, several treatments of casting, now I do therapeutic horse riding and go to the swimming pool. For me daily exercise is inevitable. Of course, my mom helps me with everything, she devoted herself to me. Sometimes it gets very hard, but we can’t stop. I need to continue treatment and use every opportunity, explore every possible method.

Despite my illness I try to educate myself, I try to establish contact with other people. This year I graduated from high school and took some computer classes. Now I go to college, my major is industrial organization. My biggest dream is to be healthy and get a college degree. I’m also into handcrafting and I participate in different crafting activities and exhibitions.

I try very hard, but sometimes it gets impossible. It is especially sad that my father doesn’t participate in my life at all.

The doctors have signed me up for a treatment in a specialized center in Yevpatoria for spring 2011. This treatment costs 95,000 rubles (3,100 dollars). It is very expensive, and we cannot afford it. Without this rehabilitation course I can’t improve any further. I ask you, please help me! I can’t wait to be able to go around without any help.
